About James Kydd

James Kydd is a seasoned professional in the energy sector, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With over twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, James can claim extensive knowledge in virtually all facets of pipeline and facility construction. Throughout his career, he has held various high-level positions, such as Quality Lead, Project Manager, Construction Manager, Senior Operations Manager, and presently, Vice President. In these roles, he has been responsible for managing the construction and maintenance of major infrastructure projects, as well as leading large teams of skilled workers and tradesmen.
Oil business
After graduating from high school, James Kydd pursued post-secondary education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree and other advanced credentials in Mechanical Engineering. As his career progressed, he completed several certifications specific to the oil and gas industry.

Over the years, James has been responsible for ensuring the quality and success of numerous large-scale construction projects. His work often involves coordinating with unions, third-party contractors, and landowners. He has managed billion-dollar budgets, organized project operations, and upheld strict safety standards mandated by both company policies and government regulations. Beyond that, he has been a key player in establishing and nurturing important business relationships.

James Kydd’s professional expertise encompasses the areas of corporate development, health and safety, and financial management, among others. In his current role as Vice President, he oversees heavy industrial projects, such as the TransMountain Expansion Pipeline, the Coastal Gas Link Pipeline, the North Montney Mainline, and Seven Gens Gathering. In doing so, some of his responsibilities include overall project planning, scheduling, and cost management. James’ hands-on approach, finely honed business sense, and well-practiced people skills have earned him recognition across all levels of the Western Canadian energy industry.
